Mid-Week Musings

It's Wednesday and I'd like to give you something to think about and tell me what you really think about. It is my intent to see both sides of the fence and it is not my intention to spark a debate either. On a side note though, yes, I am a religious, practicing Roman Catholic, but whatever you believe in, I will respect it.

Just one rule: No bashing, please.

Question:
Do you believe in hell? If so, would it possible for people who went to hell to be saved still? What would be the purpose of eternal redemption - the purpose of the living praying for the dead?

For example, a person committed suicide - a person who was generally nice and did no wrong to anybody. If you follow rules of the Church (or any religion, for that matter) - that person will go straight to hell. However, one cannot discount the power of praying. That is the power of the living. The living pray for the souls of the dead so they can be redeemed - those who still need to be purged to be pure for heaven (souls in purgatory).

If so, counting the power of prayer and the Eternal Love of the Father, would it be too much to imagine or wish that we can still be saved from hell after we die? That we might still be given the chance to be saved but not from our own doing, but now we are now depending on the powers of prayer of people who love us, who continue to remember those that fail to remember.

I will be back with my thoughts on this. And I dont want to spark on debate here, remember! LOL
