My dad just came back from holding a spiritual retreat at a drug rehab center for teenagers. He told us how shocked he was to find out that most of the youth there started taking drugs at a very young age – as early as 9 or 10 years old! That’s how old my son is right now, and after learning about that, it made me want to shelter him as much as possible from things like this. The youth of today needs to have as much diversion from the temptation of drugs, sex and alcohol. The libraries need to be more appealing, there should be more activities that foster unity and individuality at the same time at school. There should be communication between parents and teachers, and most importantly, there should be a going back to the roots – building a strong foundation for the family.
