Summer Getaway

I’m so happy today because the sun was out. For almost a week, there were only grey skies and thunderstorms and it surely has affected my mood. Now that the sun is out, we can finally plan a romantic getaway with the kids. My daughter’s birthday is a day before Mother’s Day and we plan to go with my husband’s brother on a trip. I wish we can go to Riviera Maya and experience the newly-opened Azul Beach Hotel but we need to be realistic and just plan it – maybe someday who knows? Azul Beach Hotel Resort, on a beautiful stretch of the Bahia Pentempich beach in Puerto Moreles, re-opened this season after being completely redesigned, and is the first boutique all-inclusive resort. With just 98 rooms, a gourmet-inclusive dining philosophy and many family-friendly amenities, Azul Beach Hotel offers families a new way to vacation. Parents are pampered with adult-sized indulgences as well as extras like strollers, cribs, baby milk heaters, beach games, coloring books, refrigerators for milk and medicines, and even kid-sized bathrobes.

Gold.

During olden times, ancient Greeks and Romans have used gold already to buy things. They also buy gold to get rich. It was used as a measure for wealth and power. This has been in effect up until today. Investing on gold has always been a wise investment idea. You can get them in coin or ingot form.Ingots are generally gold ingots of pure bullion cast in a convenient size and shape. Coins have a currency value or they are actually defined as ingots. You can get them through Monex Deposit Company (MDC). You can purchase gold or other precious metals for immediate personal delivery or arrange for convenient and safe storage at an independent bank or depository. For over 30 years, the Monex companies have been America’s gold and precious metals investment leader.

Overate

I went to a party last Friday and there was so much good food that I think I still felt full for two days after. Seriously. There was a chocolate fountain, there was my favorite lengua, there was pichi-pichi, there was cheesecake – everything was a favorite! I need the best appetite suppressants to make me to stop eating those!

I have yet to know the rules in trading stock options but I would like to learn them soon because so far, all I have done with my stock options is to sell them! I WANT... THURSDAY!

This weeks question is:

What do you want to do with a little extra cash?
:: I’d buy makeup and things for the house. Sadly, in that order. I need to be careful with my money! All the things I get should be enough for our weekend getaways as a family. Aggie, get your act together!

What else do you want this week? Feel free to share it all.
:: I will be in Manila to meet online friends for a party – I’m looking forward to it.

Movies

In the past week have you gone to the movie theatre? If so, what did you see? :: Twilight last December. But I have watched around 20 movies at home since last week.

Do you frequently see movies in theatres or wait until they are out on DVD or TV? :: I wait for it to come out on DVD

Have you ever gone to a movie during its opening? Did you wait in line? Do you get excited for movie openings? :: Oh yes, Twilight!

Manic Monday

Do you recycle? Why or why not?
:: Yes I do. Not that often though!

Would you rather be a pirate or a prince/princess?
:: Princess of course :) Queen better :D

Are you into astrology? If yes, how does it affect your life?
:: I read astrology but take it with a grain of salt. We control our fate!

Plum trees are on my agenda tomorrow - will go to Manila and hopefully see a plant nursery there!

Securing the Future

So the husband and I have been having a lot of discussions where we should have our savings and invest our money. I really want to have a minimum amount of cash in the bank (at least six months of our living expenses) before we invest/risk in a business but he wants to risk immediately. I’m not really a businessman to know the pros and cons of an investment and when to push forward with an opportunity so it is really hard. Right now, he wants to open up a computer rental shop with internet and printing services and the capital is actually not that expensive. I’m just having second doubts about it because even if I am not a businesswoman I know businesses like that really depend on a good location and let’s face it, securing logistics for that will be hard. So that’s a source of our long discussions these days. Since I keep the money, for now, my way is followed because he has no choice :). However, if ever he puts his foot down and follows through with his plans, I need to be ready for it too. That’s why I’m saving up my own money too, so I’m saving double if you actually think about it. I might get  term life insurance for him too once he starts a business of his own because the insurance package that comes with his job will be terminated if he resigns.

Medical Equipment

Do you keep some basic first aid equipment in your home? I know most families don’t have one but I highly suggest you create one. You need basic wound kit, antidotes for poisoning and allergy, anti-asthma medicines (because my kids have asthma) and general pain relievers, cough and flu medicines. These can be bought over the counter at most drugstores. No need to buy electrodes – you won’t need them if you are not into electrotherapy anyway. Now for the tools, I suggest you invest on one – thermometer, blood pressure equipment (Sphygmomanometer) and a blood sugar testing kit if you have a diabetic in the house. All these can be bought at Allegro Medical.

Tastey

In the past week have you had any restaurant food (whether deliver or you went out)?
+ Yes, Shakey’s and Jollibee

What is your favorite restaurant?
+ Sonya’s :)

What is your favorite food?
+ Italian, American, Filipino!

How often do you go out to eat/order delivery?
+ Once a week

Are you a good tipper (to servers or drivers)?
+ If I have the extra money LOL

Wednesday Weirdness

1.) What condiment goes best with french fries? Tomato Ketchup.
2.) What condiment do you feel best represents your personality? Fish sauce – salty but adds taste to every meal!
3.) If the love of your life was a different religion from you, would you convert for them if they asked you to? Nope. I am much rooted to my Roman Catholic beliefs.
4.) What is your favorite thing to eat with peanut butter? Soft Gardenia Bread
5.) If it were possible, would you want to know the day you were going to die? Yes so I can prepare
6.) If you could change your eye color to anything in the world you wanted, what would you change it to? Hazel
7.) Are you more often the partner in crime or the good conscience with your friends and family? Both!

Jewelry

When I was little, my mom told me I was addicted to fashion jewelry. Whenever I’d use fashion designer earrings, my ears will seriously itch and get infected. It’s a good thing that I have been able to get past that stage as I cannot afford to get all my jewelry in genuine gold! Designer Jewelry are very affordable at Holsted Jewelers. Check them out. I have kaboodled at least a couple of earrings since I love wearing them. I’m not much of a ring or bracelet person but I did notice there were a lot of nice stuff that one will want to have.
