Goal: Car

We are getting closer to our goal this year. We have been meaning to replace our very old car this year but we needed to prioritize some things and buying a new car had to take a backseat for a while. Fortunately, a big project fell into our laps and if we ever finish it by the end of the year, the amount we will receive can finally fill our budget gap for a car.

We are really praying that we will be able to buy a car before Christmas, as we would need the vehicle for our annual visits to relatives. But, if I am to be realistic, I think it won’t happen until January of the next year. We would need to scout for cheap deals because our budget isn’t that big to begin with.

We have gone back and forth (and forth and back) whether we would get a used car, or use the budget we have as a down payment for a new one. I have always been for getting a used one, since I cannot promise I can deliver paying monthly car mortgages for five years. Though car deals these days are so tempting (thanks to the holiday season), we need to stick to the plan since we are saving up on a house too.

We also need a big car (an SUV honestly) since we are a big family and we usually take our extended family with us whenever we go to the city. So I am really praying that we get lucky on our car quest. Please pray for us!
